THE PALMARÈS 2024 of the 77th Cannes Festival

Cannes Film Festival 2024: New Films Complete the Official Selection

« Gather the popcorns and adjust your monocles! The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival warms up with a casting of competitors that could even make the Croisette blush. Thirteen new films shyly knocked at the door of the Official Selection on Monday, April 22, and were welcomed with open arms, three of them ready for the Palme d'or. At the top of the list is Michel Hazanavicius's ‘The Preciousest of Goods', an animated feature film that risks itself in the courtyard of the greats for the first time since ‘Valse with Bachir' in 2008. Hazanavicius could make sparks, or at least some animated bubbles. He is joined by Mohammad Rasoulof's ‘The Seed of the Sacred Fig', a political film he could vote on his own, especially when one knows that Rasoulof is not exactly the favourite of the Iranian regime. And let's not forget ‘Three Kilometers until the end of the world' by Romanian actor Emanuel Parvu, who we hope will not make you walk too long. Next to the heavy suitors, the Festival also offers us an out-of-competition buffet with the new ‘Monte Cristo Count' starring Pierre Niney – big budget, big sword, big drama. Not to mention the special sessions that promise to captivate, from the intriguing Romanian ‘Nasty' to the much-anticipated ‘Spicitors!' by Arnaud Desplechin, where the cinema looks itself in the mirror. In short, Cannes 2024 promises as sparkling as a fresh champagne. Get ready, it's gonna be a festival where movies are the real stars on the roug carpet

MAD MAX « FURIOSA » ON THE ROAD OF THE CANNES FESTIVAL MARKET MAY 15, 2024

Nine years after the film whirlwind of Mad Max: Fury Road, George Miller, Australian visionary of production, script and production, orchestrated a triumphal return to the international scene with Furiosa: a Mad Max saga. This latest opus, long-awaited, prepares to illuminate the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in a glitter of glory, marking a new era for one of the most emblematic sagas of modern cinema. On Wednesday, 15 May, in the prestigious writing of the Grand Théâtre Lumière at the Palais des Festivals, a gala session will be held outside the competition to conduct the red carpet for Furiosa. This exceptional moment will see the starry presence of Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Burke, the leading trio of this new adventure, who promises to be as exciting as innovative. Diving into the depths of Furiosa's origins, a character who became iconic as soon as he appeared on Mad Max: Fury Road – a work celebrated and crowned with multiple Oscars – this chapter offers a new face to the saga. Anya Taylor-Joy brilliantly embodies a young Furiosa, determined to return home, navigating through the dangers of a post-apocalyptic world populated by armed bands and ruthless deserts. George Miller, in a statement tinted with emotion and passion, shared his enthusiasm: « Carrying Furiosa on screen was a dream fed for more than a decade. The Cannes Film Festival, with its prestige and love for bold cinema, is the ideal place to present this epic to the international public. Miller, including wire

The film of the Cannes Film Festival 2024 seen by LoBO-Graphik

For this 77th edition of the festival, Lobo-Graphik did a pretty cool thing around the Cannes Film Festival: he served us not one, but two absolutely awesome posters, each with a touch of his own. He saw things big, and frankly, we love it! He shows us the festival from two completely different angles, and we can only applaud! 2 Posters for the Cannes Film Festival 2024 First, there is this first poster celebrating the 30th anniversary of a mythical scene: « The Carioca » the film « The City of Fear ». This cult moment of French cinema, where Alain Chabat and Gérard Darmon are embarking on a dance as absurd as hilarious, has become much more than a film scene: it is a piece of our culture. Imagine this: this Poster managed to take this dance that we can't stop wanting to imitate and transformed it into an image that captures the whole glamour and fun of the moment. It's like you can hear the music just by watching it! For its second creation, the poster takes us in a more neutral but totally barred graphics of Tim Burton with a black and white poster dedicated to « Ed Wood ». This film, which tells the story of the director considered the worst of all time, is a nugget of cinema, oscillating between humor and melancholy. The poster perfectly captures this contrast, paying homage to Burton's aesthetics and the eccentricity of his protagonist, incarnated by Johnny Depp between the director's vision and the camera which are finally 2 points of view differ. Thai Night Cannes 2023 Thailand, where movies come to life

Partage d'article

Welcome Party Cannes Festival at Majestic Beach

Dear readers, if you thought that the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival was going to be as predictable as a Hollywood action film, you must be mistaken! The welcome evening on Majestic beach was anything but conventional. By 8:30 pm, the evening started, not with the usual pop of a bottle of champagne, but with the refreshing pshhh of a Spritz helas cocktail, not very well prepared (see photo). But honestly, it just added charm to the event, giving a staggered note to this glamorous evening whose themed buffet was as beautiful as it was delicate for the palate. Live music then took over, adding notes of funk, jazz and hit to the Mediterranean Sea night symphony. The live band was absolutely electrifying, transforming the beach into a real open-air discotheque. The voices of the duo singers echoed the waves, creating an undeniable festive atmosphere. The evening continued with laughter, shrapnel and clumsy dance steps on the sand. At midnight, while the last notes of music fainted in the air, there was general satisfaction among the guests of the cinema. Yes, this year's welcoming evening may have lacked champagne, but it certainly showed a sparkling spirit and contagious joy. And isn't this the very essence of the Cannes Film Festival? A celebration of the unexpected, art and, above all, pleasure. This is an evening that will remain engraved in our memories. But then, you tell me, where were the gifts?
