Positive Cinema: Positive Week and Positive Gala Planet (Jacques Attali)

The first Positive Cinema Week, launched by Jacques Attali and the Positive Planet Foundation, will take place from 13 to 20 May 2016 under the auspices of the 69th Cannes Festival. After a day of discussions on positive cinema, the first Prizes of Positive Cinema will be awarded at the Positive Planet gala dinner on Wednesday, May 18. Cinema has always been a source of entertainment, but it is also a platform for historical reflection on social and environmental issues. Cinema is the privileged witness of the times of yesterday and today: it constantly nourishes future generations through timeless films. During the morning of the debate of the Positive Cinema Week, organised on Wednesday 18 May at the Palais des Festivals, film professionals, business leaders and representatives of associations and NGOs will host discussion sessions around 3 key themes in the positive cinema: the cinema of nature, the cinema facing progress, and the cinema of the individual.
