From Cannes to Deauville: « Long live the cinema », photo exhibition with three eyes on art 7
On the occasion of the Deauville Festival, the gallery Un Rêve Éveillé hosts, from September 3 to 13, 2026, the exhibition « VIEWS THE CINEMA ». At the initiative of actor Eriq Ebouaney, three photographers known for their work around the cinema, Kris Dewitte, Stéphane Kossmann and Marcelo Nlele, gather their eyes in the same exhibition for the first time. From Cannes to Deauville: Cinema continues its journey to the 52nd American Film Festival
Quelques mois après le Festival de Cannes, le cinéma retrouve une autre de ses grandes destinations françaises. Du 4 au 13 septembre 2026, Deauville accueillera la 52e édition du Festival du Cinéma Américain, avec treize films en compétition, un jury présidé par Roschdy Zem et plusieurs grands noms du cinéma américain attendus sur les Planches. Si Cannes regarde le cinéma mondial depuis la Méditerranée, Deauville entretient depuis plus d’un demi-siècle une relation privilégiée avec le cinéma américain. Deux festivals aux identités très différentes, mais dont les chemins se croisent régulièrement. Et cette année encore, plusieurs films découverts à Cannes poursuivront leur parcours à Deauville. Cannes – Deauville : une histoire qui ne date pas d’hier Le rapprochement entre les deux festivals avait pris une dimension particulière en 2020. Alors que le Festival de Cannes n’avait pas pu se tenir dans sa forme habituelle en raison de la crise sanitaire, Deauville avait ouvert ses écrans à des films de la Sélection officielle cannoise avec « L’Heure de la Croisette ». Neuf films de la Sélection officielle Cannes 2020 avaient ainsi été projetés à Deauville. Une manière pour Cannes de continuer à accompagner les œuvres et les artistes sélectionnés malgré cette année exceptionnelle. Cette opération particulière appartient à l’histoire de 2020 et ne constitue pas une section annoncée pour 2026. Mais les passerelles entre les deux rendez-vous continuent naturellement d’exister à travers les films et les artistes. Trois films de Cannes 2026 en compétition à Deauville Parmi les 13 films retenus en compétition officielle à Deauville en 2026, trois ont déjà été présentés quelques mois auparavant dans la Sélection officielle du 79e Festival de Cannes. CLUB KID – Jordan Firstman Présenté à Cannes dans la section Un Certain Regard, Club Kid est le premier long métrage de Jordan Firstman. Après son passage sur la Croisette, le film rejoint donc la compétition américaine de Deauville. I’LL BE GONE IN JUNE – Katharina Rivilis Autre premier film passé par Un Certain Regard à Cannes 2026, I’ll Be Gone in June de Katharina Rivilis sera également en compétition à Deauville. Le film nous entraîne en 2001 aux côtés de Franny, adolescente allemande de 16 ans partie vivre une année d’échange aux États-Unis. Son arrivée dans une petite ville du Nouveau-Mexique intervient dans une Amérique bouleversée par les attentats du 11 septembre. MÉLI-MÉLO (TANGLES) – Leah Nelson Présenté en Séance spéciale de la Sélection officielle de Cannes 2026, Tangles, premier long métrage d’animation de Leah Nelson, arrive à Deauville sous son titre français Méli-Mélo. Adapté du roman graphique autobiographique de Sarah Leavitt, le film aborde notamment la maladie d’Alzheimer et les bouleversements qu’elle provoque au sein d’une famille. Trois films, trois premiers longs métrages et trois nouvelles preuves que la vie d’un film ne s’arrête pas à sa première présentation sur la Croisette. La Gradiva : de la Semaine de la Critique à Deauville Un autre lien avec Cannes sera particulièrement visible cette année. La Gradiva, premier long métrage de Marine Atlan, avait été présenté en compétition à la Semaine de la Critique 2026, où il a remporté le Grand Prix. Quelques mois plus tard, le film a été choisi comme Prix d’Ornano-Valenti 2026 à Deauville. Créé en 1991, ce prix accompagne un premier film français afin de favoriser sa reconnaissance et sa carrière. Pop Up Influence in Cannes: Anthony Ghnassia presents Sound of Silence on the Croisette
Pendant le Festival de Cannes 2026, le Pop Up Influence s’est installé à quelques pas du Palais des Festivals dans une suite du Gray d’Albion. Un lieu éphémère réunissant créateurs, artistes, influenceurs et invités autour de la mode, de la beauté, de la photographie et de la musique. Parmi les rendez-vous de cette édition, nous avons retrouvé le photographe Anthony Ghnassia venu présenter son livre Sound of Silence. Une rencontre accompagnée de DJ sets avec notamment The Avener et Vanetty, ainsi que la présence de DJ Cut Killer. Pour sa troisième édition, du 13 au 22 mai 2026, le Pop Up Influence avait choisi un emplacement particulièrement intéressant : une suite du Gray d’Albion, en plein cœur de la Croisette et à seulement quelques pas du Palais des Festivals. Invited to a beachfront lunch by the Maison L.RAPHAEL Geneva, I had the pleasure of talking with Sylvie Burnet about the new products presented this year by the Swiss brand specialized in upscale care, well-being and longevity. After the opening of the Cannes 2026 Festival, the festivities continued on May 13th on the beach of the Croisette Beach where The Cannes Blog was invited to follow this great evening designed by Akili Partners. Between festive atmosphere, personalities, music and lifestyle universe, this first Akili Mirari Opening Party brought together more than 300 guests from the world of cinema, fashion, media and influence for one of the most notable events at the beginning of the festival. On 13 May last, the Croisette Beach in Cannes hosted the Opening Party by Akili Mirari, the first major event designed by Akili Partners as part of the Cannes Film Festival. Thought around the Afro Fusion theme, the evening plunged guests into an atmosphere mixing influences of the French Riviera, Africa and the Indian Ocean. Transformed for the occasion, the beach of the Croisette Beach offered several spaces set between lounge, photocall, photo box and presentation of the creations of the designer Imane Ayissi.
