In Cannes, the cinema looks as much as it listens. For its 16th edition, the Prix Cannes Soundtrack 2026, under the signature "When Cinema Meets Music", awarded this year two works ex æquo, welcoming the essential role of music in cinematographic emotion. This Friday, May 22, on the CNC beach in Cannes, as part of the Positive Cinema Week, Belgian director Lukas Dhont received the Positive Cinema Award 2026 for his new feature film Coward, presented in Official Competition at the 79th Cannes International Film Festival. The prize was presented to him by Jacques Attali, founding President of Positive Cinema Week, and Estelle Lefébure, patron of this 11th edition, also in the presence of Sam Bobino, co-founder and managing director of Positive Cinema Week. Awarded each year to a film work with a humanist look at the world and helping to change consciousness through the values of transmission, inclusion, resilience or commitment, the Prize for Positive Cinema distinguishes a cinema capable of inspiring change while celebrating the strength of emotion and narrative. With Coward, Lukas Dhont delivers a deeply sensitive and deeply human film that questions the notions of masculinity, courage and freedom in the brutal context of the First World War. Among the highlights of this edition 2026, the evening dedicated to the film Clarissa brought together a part of the team of the feature film directed by the brothers Arie Esiri and Chuko Esiri, presented this year at the Filmmakers' Fortnight 2026. Free modern adaptation of Mrs. Virginia Woolf's Dalloway translated into the contemporary Lagos, Clarissa blends intimate drama, political gaze and ambitious visual aesthetics. Pendant que la Croisette vibrait au rythme des projections, des montées des marches et des soirées du Festival de Cannes 2026, un autre rendez-vous important du cinéma contemporain s’est également tenu à Cannes : la remise du Prix Ecoprod 2026. Organisée le 15 mai dernier à bord du voilier Blue Panda, amarré quai Saint-Pierre, cette nouvelle édition du Prix Ecoprod a récompensé plusieurs productions engagées dans une démarche d’éco-production ambitieuse et responsable. Créé par Ecoprod en partenariat avec WWF France, ce prix met en lumière des films capables de repenser les méthodes de production du cinéma moderne : limitation de l’empreinte carbone, gestion des déplacements, optimisation énergétique ou encore réduction des déchets sur les tournages. Deux films récompensés en 2026 Le jury du Prix Ecoprod 2026 a décerné le prix principal au film Soudain du réalisateur japonais Ryūsuke Hamaguchi. Présenté durant le festival, le long-métrage a été salué pour la cohérence globale de sa démarche environnementale et l’implication des équipes de production autour des enjeux écologiques liés au tournage. Le jury a également attribué une mention spéciale au film Notre Salut de Emmanuel Marre, distingué lui aussi pour son engagement concret en faveur d’une production plus durable. PRIX ECOPROD Mention Spéciale Un jury engagé autour de l’éco-production Présidé par Aure Atika, le jury réunissait cette année plusieurs personnalités du cinéma, de l’image et de l’engagement environnemental : Vincent Munier, Philip Boeffard (producteur et co-fondateur de Nord-Ouest Films), Mamadou Dembele (fondateur du média digital positif Impact Story), Gwladys Bouillon-Pacheco (co-présidente de l’association ACCEPTE et coordinatrice d’éco-production), Clémentine Buren (productrice), Jean-Philippe Lefevre (Directeur de l’engagement WWF France) ainsi que Muriel Signouret (directrice RSE du Groupe SNCF). Réuni durant le Festival de Cannes 2026, le jury a récompensé deux longs-métrages qui se sont distingués par l’ambition et la cohérence de leur démarche d’éco-production. Lors de cette édition, Aure Atika a également partagé une vision particulièrement forte de l’évolution du cinéma face aux enjeux environnementaux : « Ce qui m’a frappée dans les films les plus engagés écologiquement, c’est qu’on sent aussi une autre qualité humaine sur le plateau. Comme si la conscience écologique réveillait aussi le sens du collectif. » Elle poursuit : « L’éco-production, c’est repenser une manière de fabriquer du cinéma sans perdre le désir, la liberté ni l’ambition artistique. » Une déclaration qui résume parfaitement l’esprit du Prix Ecoprod, devenu au fil des années un rendez-vous incontournable du Festival de Cannes pour valoriser un cinéma plus responsable, mais toujours porté par la création et l’ambition artistique.

Après l’ouverture du Festival de Cannes 2026, les festivités se sont poursuivies le 13 mai dernier sur la plage du Croisette Beach où Le Blog de Cannes était invité afin de suivre cette grande soirée imaginée par Akili Partners. Entre ambiance festive, personnalités, musique et univers lifestyle, cette première Akili Mirari Opening Party a réuni plus de 300 invités venus du monde du cinéma, de la mode, des médias et de l’influence pour l’un des rendez-vous remarqués du début de festival. Le 13 mai dernier, la plage du Croisette Beach à Cannes a accueilli l’Opening Party signée Akili Mirari, premier grand rendez-vous imaginé par Akili Partners dans le cadre du Festival de Cannes. Pensée autour du thème Afro Fusion, la soirée plongeait les invités dans une atmosphère mêlant influences de la French Riviera, d’Afrique et de l’océan Indien. Transformée pour l’occasion, la plage du Croisette Beach proposait plusieurs espaces scénographiés entre lounge, photocall, box photo et présentation des créations du couturier Imane Ayissi. Côté musique, la soirée a été portée par le DJ producteur mauricien GЯEG avant un set du célèbre DJ et producteur Mosimann, dans une ambiance particulièrement festive jusque tard dans la nuit.
