Spike Lee President of the Cannes Film Festival 74th edition

Thierry Frémaux and Pierre Lescure, the festival's president, delivered another message: they continued to organize the event in the first half of July. « Preparations are in full swing and the selection committee has watched many films. In the coming weeks, the festival will have the opportunity to present in detail the outline of the 74th edition. The official selection and composition of the jury will be announced in early June. » Of course, people expect special sanitary conditions, on the cruise usually crowded around the Palais des Festivals and the red carpet. Other film festivals in recent months have inevitably shown a special look (recently an online presentation in Berlin). Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers have always hoped that the largest Festival in the world (Festival de Cannes) will be the first to be screened in (almost) usual conditions ... and the Cannes Blog will actively follow the events, including the off rating if the conditions are right. THE CANNES 2020 FESTIVAL IS REVIEWED!

The Cannes Festival will not take place! Although they have made the suspense last to the end, they want to challenge the coronavirus: the organizers have indeed given up organizing the Cannes Festival. Very expected since the arrival of the Coronavirus, the news of the cancellation of the Cannes 2020 Festival fell on Thursday 19 March in a press release, imposed by the global health crisis of the coronavirus. "The Cannes Film Festival will not be able to take place on the scheduled dates, from May 12 to 23,", says the organisation team, not without hoping to hold the traditional Cannois event at another time. "Several hypotheses are being studied in order to preserve its progress, the main one being a simple postponement. » But we cannot say when as May 68 (photo) Of the whole history of the Cannes festival, which is expected to celebrate its 73rd edition this year, only two events had forced the organizers to cancel it, or to interrupt it. In 1939, first, when World War II broke out and interrupted in 1968 by the events of May. We'll see each other again, it's written... by Hugo Mayer 21/3/2020 Article sharing
