CINEMA POSITIF PRICES AT THE CANNES FESTIVAL 2023
After a week of screenings and encounters, the 8th edition of Positive Cinema Week – which takes place every year in Cannes under the auspices of the International Film Festival – devotes a cinema that changes our gaze on the world, awakens consciousness and invites citizens from all over the world to engage. This year the Prize of Positive Cinema Rewarding the Most Feature Film « Positive » among all the films in official competition in Cannes, was awarded, this Friday 26 May on the beach of the CNC (partner of the event). Kaouther Ben Hania, (photo: © Rachid Bellak) It is Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania, who received the Prix du Cinéma Positif 2023 for her fifth feature film and first in official competition in Cannes, The Daughters of Olfa. A prize awarded by the Positive Planet Foundation – which organizes Positive Cinema Week under the direction of its general delegate Sam Bobino – presented by Jacques Attali, President of the Positive Planet Foundation and by actor and director Eric Judor, sponsor of this year's event. The Daughters of Olfa, a film by Kaouther Ben Hania, produced by Nadim Sheikhrouha and distributed in France by Jour2Fête. With: Hend Sabri, Nour Karoui, Ichraq Matar, Majd Mastoura, Olfa Hamrouni, Eya Chikahoui, Tayssir Chikhaoui. Music by: Amine Bouhafa. Released in France on July 5, 2023. The life of Olfa, Tunisian and mother of 4 girls, oscillates between shadow and light. One day, her two eldest daughters disappear. In order to fill their absence, director Kaouther Ben Hania calls actresses to attend the conference.

« INCLUSION & COMMITMENT » The 8th edition of Positive Cinema Week will take place in Cannes, under the auspices of the International Film Festival, from 24 to 27 May and will be sponsored by actor and director Éric Judor. Created in 2016 and organized by the Positive Planet group chaired by Jacques Attali, in partnership with the CNC and the City of Cannes, the Positive Cinema Week (led by Sam Bobino) takes place every year in Cannes during the Inter-National Film Festival and devotes a cinema that changes our gaze on the world, questions its industry and puts its art at the service of future generations. The aim of the Positive Cinema is to challenge the spectator, to make him react and to rage to engage and act for a better world. THE WEEK OF CINEMA POSITIF, FOR WHAT? To provide a forum for engaged and alerting cinemas. Encourage film professionals to make films that make them want to engage to improve the world for the benefit of future generations. Include the event in the DNA of the Festival of Giving access to culture for all. Offer an event around the cinema, free, popular and open to all.
