A certain look: Pablo Trapero (Argentina) President of the Jury
Pablo Trapero, sera le Président du Jury Un Certain Regard du 67e Festival de Cannes. Dans le communiqué diffusé par le Festival, le scénariste, producteur et réalisateur argentin a déclaré : Je suis très fier d’être le Président du Jury du Certain Regard. Fier de participer à l’aventure cannoise d’une autre manière. Le Certain Regard, où j’ai présenté trois de mes films, est une sélection toujours passionnante. On y trouve de grands maîtres, de jeunes promesses, les nouveaux pays et les formes nouvelles du cinéma. Trapero, 42 ans, avait reçu le Prix de la Critique à Venise en 1999 avec son premier long métrage Mundo Grúa. Avec son film suivant, El Bonaerense, en 2002, il est sélectionné à Un Certain regard au Festival de Cannes. Depuis, il ne quittera pas la Croisette : en compétition avec Leonera en 2008, à Un Certain Regard avec Carancho en 2010 et Elefante blanco en 2012. Avec sa société Matanza Cine, il a produit des cinéastes comme Lisandro Alonso, Albertina Carri, Enrique Bellande, Ezequiel Acuña et Raúl Perrone. Cette année Prix Un Certain Regard sera décerné le vendredi 23 mai 2014. La sélection des films sera annoncée le 17 avril. Partage d'article
#Cannes 2014: Jane Campion (The Piano Lesson) Madam President!
New Zealand director Jane Campion, 60 years old, (Palm of 1993 with The Piano Lesson) will be the president of the Jury of the next Cannes Film Festival 67th edition. She remained the only successful filmmaker and at the same time became the second (after Liv Ullmann in 2001) to chair the Cannois jury. She will also be the 11th woman in this position. Cannes 2014: Palmarès (Palme d'Or) announced on Saturday 24 May!
Due to the European elections to be held on Sunday, May 25, the management of the Cannes Film Festival decided to unveil the Palmarès of its 67th edition the day before, Saturday, May 24, during the traditional ceremony at the Grand Théâtre Lumière. Cette année, le Festival de Cannes marque le grand retour de Nicole Kidman sur la Croisette. L’actrice viendra présenter son nouveau film en compétition » The Paperboy », dans lequel elle donne la réplique à Matthew McConaughey et Zac Efron. The Paperboy est développée depuis dix ans par Peter Dexter et Pedro Almodovar. Lee Daniels, réalisateur de Precious, a réalisé le film. Moment fort très attendu pour cette 65e édition ! Les deux acteurs risquent de faire monter la température sur le tapis rouge, avec Nicole Kidman qui reviendra après le mémorable Moulin Rouge ! Les deux acteurs se sont confiés il y a peu lors d’interviews et Zac Efron a lâché une vraie bombe en dévoilant qu’il y aura une scène de sexe dans le film et qu’elle est, d’après ses dires, très bonne!! Michel Gondry, President of the Short Film Jury and Cinéfondation 2011

It is MICHEL GONDRY, the French director present in the selection in 2001 with Human Nature, in 2008 with his triptych Tokyo! at Certain Regard, and in 2009 out of competition with the documentary portrait L Michel Gondry, also videographer and musician, sketched in seven feature films, some shorts and seventy music clips a deeply original work, tinted with brownness and doutopia. Oscar for Best Scenario in 2004, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was followed in 2006 by Science of Dreams, then Be Kind, Rewind in 2008. The Green Hornet (The Green Frelon), currently on French screens since January 2011, is to date its greatest success in theaters. The filmmaker has just opened at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, his « Factory of amateur films », both creative studio and DIY workshop, where everyone can make a short film in three hours.
