Pablo Trapero, will be the President of the 67th Jury Un Certain Regard Cannes Festival.
In the press release released by the Festival, the Argentine writer, producer and director said:
Jhe is very proud to be the President of the Jury of Certain Regard. Proud to participate in the Cannoese adventure in another way. The Certain Regard, where I presented three of my films, is always an exciting selection. There are great masters, young promises, new countries and new forms of cinema.
Trapero, 42 years old, received the Prize of Criticism in Venice in 1999 with his first feature film Mundo Grúa. With his next movie, El Bonaerense, in 2002, he was selected at Un Certain regard at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, he will not leave the Croisette: in competition with Leonera in 2008, at Un Certain Regard with Carancho 2010 and Elefante Blanco in 2012.
With his company Matanza Cine, he produced filmmakers like Lisandro Alonso, Albertina Carri, Enrique Bellande, Ezequiel Acuña and Raúl Perrone.
This year Un Certain Regard Prize will be awarded on Friday, May 23, 2014. The selection of films will be announced on 17 Aprill.
