New Zealand director Jane Campion, 60 years old, (Palm of 1993 with The Piano Lesson) will be the president of the Jury of the next Cannes Film Festival 67th edition. She remained the only successful filmmaker and at the same time became the second (after Liv Ullmann in 2001) to chair the Cannois jury. She will also be the 11th woman in this position.
The filmmaker was also able to prepare for her role at the last edition of the festival, since she was president of the jury of short films. Gilles Jacob said about him: «Jane is a child from Cannes. « I had chosen his first three shorts, whose style I had enjoyed. » She won the honours in 1986 with the Palme d'or of the short film, followed by a selection in competition in 1989 for her first long before her gold palm in 1993.
