Cannes Soundtrack 2026: two films awarded ex æquo for the 16th edition
In Cannes, the cinema looks as much as it listens. For its 16th edition, the Prix Cannes Soundtrack 2026, under the signature "When Cinema Meets Music", awarded this year two works ex æquo, welcoming the essential role of music in cinematographic emotion. The Prix Cannes Soundtrack 2026 was awarded by the press jury to Amarga Navidad, directed by Pedro Almodovar, whose music is composed by Alberto Iglesias, as well as to Minotaure, directed by Andrey Zvyaguintsev, with music composed by Evgueni Galperine and Sacha Galperine. The Golden Disc on the Magnum beach The Golden Disc of the Cannes Soundtrack Award was presented this Friday, May 22, 2026 on the Magnum beach at Régine Vial, Director General of the Films du Losange and producer of the film Minotaure. The discount was made by Vincent Doerr, General Delegate of Cannes Soundtrack. On Saturday evening, the Magnum Beach experienced an extraordinary festival closing evening. LUKAS DOWN RECEIVES THE PRICE OF THE POSITIF CINEMA 2026 FOR ITS COWARD FILM©
Ce vendredi 22 mai, sur la plage du CNC à Cannes, dans le cadre de la Semaine du Cinéma Positif, le réalisateur belge Lukas Dhont a reçu le Prix du Cinéma Positif 2026 pour son nouveau long-métrage Coward, présenté en Compétition officielle au 79e Festival International du Film de Cannes. Le prix lui a été remis par Jacques Attali, président fondateur de la Semaine du Cinéma Positif, et Estelle Lefébure, marraine de cette 11e édition, en présence également de Sam Bobino, cofondateur et directeur général de la Semaine du Cinéma Positif. Décerné chaque année à une oeuvre cinématographique portant un regard humaniste sur le monde et contribuant à faire évoluer les consciences à travers les valeurs de transmission, d’inclusion, de résilience ou d’engagement, le Prix du Cinéma Positif distingue un cinéma capable d’inspirer le changement tout en célébrant la force de l’émotion et du récit. Avec Coward, Lukas Dhont livre un film profondément sensible et profondément humain, qui interroge les notions de masculinité, de courage et de liberté dans le contexte brutal de la Première Guerre mondiale. À travers l’histoire de deux jeunes soldats cherchant à préserver leur humanité, leur sensibilité et leur capacité à aimer au coeur du chaos, le réalisateur propose une oeuvre lumineuse sur la fraternité, la tolérance et la résistance intime face à la violence et oppose ainsi l’art et l’amour à l’horreur et à la barbarie. Déjà récompensé à Cannes pour Girl (Prix du Cinéma Positif 2018), puis Close, Lukas Dhont confirme avec Coward la singularité d’une oeuvre engagée, délicate et universelle, faisant du cinéma un espace de dialogue, d’empathie et de réconciliation humaine. À propos de la Semaine du Cinéma Positif Créée en 2016 par Jacques Attali et Sam Bobino, la Semaine du Cinéma Positif, met à l’honneur un cinéma porteur de sens, capable d’éveiller les consciences et de contribuer à un monde plus inclusif, durable et solidaire.
