Thai Night: Thailand highlights Thai Creative talents during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival

Its Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi Chair Thai Night ‘Thailand – Where Films Come Alive', which celebrates this year the achievement of the ‘Creative Thai' talents of the Thai film industry with the significant support of His Royal Highness.

Thai Night is part of DITP's project to support and promote the Thai film industry internationally. This year, we celebrate the vision ‘Creative Thai’.

Thailand marked its first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001 with the film ‘Tears of the Black Tiger', the first Thai film selected for screening at the Festival. Since then, Thailand has enjoyed a strong presence with the screening of films by Thai directors such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Pen-ek Ratanaruang, Ekachai Uekrongtham, Aditya Assarat and Wisit Sasanatieng.

A must-have annual event on the Croisette, Thai Night is known not only for its wonderful hospitality, but also for the discovery of the latest Thai talents emerging on the world film scene.

This evening allows guests to meet with Thai filmmakers and film industry representatives: distributors, service companies, production companies and production installation.

Other Thai Night evenings are also organized by DITP at each international event to support and promote the Thai film industry.

Together with Thai Night, DITP will install the Thai Pavilion at the Film Market at the Palais level -1, at stand n° 22.01. Twelve large production, distribution and service companies will meet you.
