64th Cannes Festival: A sexy jury with Argentine producer Martina Gusman
Martina Gusman is an Argentine producer and actress. After studying art at the University of Buenos Aires, Martina Gusman completed his training in drama art at the school of Carlos Gandolfo. It founded its independent production company, Matanza Ciné. In her country, she has produced many films such as El Bonaerense (2002) or Family Travel (2004). As an actress, Martina Gusman is almost novice. She was led in 2006 by her companion Pablo Trapero , the story of a family father struck by a tragedy. In 2008, the couple collaborated again to deliver Leonera , selected in official competition at the Cannes festival. This time, Martina holds the main role of the film, that of a young incarcerated woman who gives birth in prison and learns to love her son. His passionate interpretation has moved many festivalgoers. MNI INTERVIEW : What excites you the most, and weighs you the most, in your acting profession? The most exciting thing is to be able to live several lives in one, to tell stories, to make people live. Being also a producer, I enjoy both the very emotional aspect of the game and the more intellectual creation of a film: these are very complementary activities. If you manage to ignore the camera, sometimes very close, the cinema allows you to pass very strong emotions, and, strangely, you feel that you will touch the audience very intimately when the film is finished, more than at the theater, where I started, child. I love this intimacy, this closeness
