Cannes 2012 : A special day of Gilles Jacob on May 20
JACOB GILLES FILM THE 20 MAY The president of the Cannes Film Festival, Gilles Jacob, will present his film Une jour particulier, which will plunge us into the 2007 edition when the festival celebrated its 60th anniversary. The film, whose title echoes the 1977 film by Ettore Scola, will be screened simultaneously on the Cannois screens and on Canal+. It was created thanks to Gilles Jacob's personal archives and those of the festival, Cineuropa explains . He will trace the arrival in Cannes of thirty-five directors, dinners and press conferences. Kristen Stewart (The girl friend of Robert Pattinson) « On the road » To Cannes!
Life after Twilight passes through the Croisette. While the final part of the saga from Stephenie Meyer's novels is expected in theaters on November 18, her stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, should make the paparazzi happy at the 65th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival. The comedians are featured in the credits of two films strongly screened in the official selection. Kristen Stewart is part of the On the Road casting, adaptation of Jack Kerouac's novel by Brazilian director Walter Salles. She plays the role of Marylou, the young wife of Dean Moriarty, a writer inspired by Neal Cassady, legendary figure of the beat generation embodied on screen by Garret Hedlund. Robert Pattinson is the star of Cosmopolis of Canadian David Cronenberg. (see article above). MADAGASCAR 3 World Premiere at the 65th Cannes Film Festival
The animated film Madagascar 3: Good kisses from Europe will be screened as a world premiere at the 65th Cannes Festival! Cinéfondation Workshop (Cinema School of the World)
PARIS, 15 March 2012 – The Cinéfondation de Cannes workshop selected fifteen projects from 15 countries, including two from China and two Franco-African co-productions, whose authors will participate in the festival from 18 to 25 May with their producers. Individual meetings will be organised during the festival between the directors and « all professionals interested in their project and likely to supplement the financing of their film ». NANNI MORETTI – President 65th Cane Festival

PALME D’OR : THE TREE OF LIFE de Terrence Malick Robert De Niro,président du jury, a récompensé le seul compatriote de la sélection. Ni Terrence Malick, ni ses acteurs Brad Pitt et Jessica Chastain ne sont venus assister à la cérémonie ce dimanche soir, au Palais des festivals… Dans la salle de presse, beaucoup de huées éclatent et d’autres applaudissent à s’en rompre les poignets.
