CANNES 2015 Films in competition
Pierre Lescure the new president of the Cannes Film Festival, raised the veil on the 17 films in competition. American Gus Van Sant, Chinese Jia Zhangke, French Jacques Audiard and Maiwenn and Italian Nanni Moretti are among the directors selected for the official competition. France, with four films and Italy with three films are particularly well represented, unlike Latin America absent from the competition. Jacques Audiard with « Dheepan », Stéphane Brizé with « Market law »Valérie Donzelli with « Marguerite and Julien » and Maiwenn with « My King » will be the four French in competition. North America three films: « Carol » by Todd Haynes and « The Sea of trees » of Gus Van Sant for the United States, and « Sicario » Canadian Denis Villeneuve. Asia three also: the Chinese Jia Zhangke will be back on the Croisette with « Mountains may depart », the Japanese Hirokazu Korea-Eda with « Our little sister ». Taiwanese Hou Hsiao-hsien will present, « The Assassin ». Among the stars, Vincent Cassel, Vincent Lindon, Léa Seydoux (photo) Marion Cotillard for the French, but also Cate Blanchett, Matthew McConaughey, Naomi Watts, Benicio del Toro, Harvey Keitel, Salma Hayek, Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz or Michael Fassbender will tread the red carpet.
