11 Mai 2016: La cérémonie d’ouverture avec la projection de «Café Society» de Woody Allen avec Kristen Stewart et Blake Lively.Le tapis rouge sera magique avec Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Kirsten Dunst, Vanessa Paradis ou encore Mads Mikkelsen. (En direct sur canal plus) 12 mai : La première venue de Julia Roberts sur le tapis rouge. Le grand moment glamour annoncé du 69e Festival de Cannes. Star parmi les stars, Julia Roberts n’est jamais venue sur la Croisette avec un film en sélection officielle,hors compétition. 12 mai : l’hommage à Prince au Cinéma de la plage ouvert à tous (entrée libre) Le Festival de Cannes rendra hommage au Kid de Minneapolis avec la projection le jeudi 12 mai, à 21h30, de «Purple Rain», son film culte, dans le cadre du Cinéma de la plage, évènément en plein air et tout public. 13 mai : Moi, Ken Loach, sélectionné une treizième fois en compétition. Ken Loach, vénérable réalisateur anglais récompensé d’une Palme d’or en 2006 et de trois prix du jury, viendra une treizième fois en compétition avec «Moi, Daniel Blake» 13 mai : Lily-Rose Depp (photo) Fille de Vanessa Paradis, jurée du 69e Festival de Cannes et de Johnny Depp, star d’Hollywood. Si Lily-Rose Depp ne tient qu’un second rôle dans «Danseuse» de Stéphanie di Giusto, présenté dans la section Un Certain Regard, tous les regards seront tournés vers elle. Loïe Fuller, une cowgirl américaine qui fera la gloire des cabarets parisiens de La Belle Epoque et dansera à l’Opéra de Paris, jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit à l’origine de la danse Serpentine. Surnommée La Danseuse, jusqu’a sa rencontre avec Isadora Duncan… La Danseuse est produit par Alain Attal pour Les Productions du Trésor. Sa distribution sur les écrans français sera assurée par Wild Bunch. 14 mai : Steven Spielberg, ce bon gros géant du cinéma hollywoodien. Steven Spielberg viendra présenter hors compétition «Le Bon Gros Géant», une fable inspirée de Roald Dahl dont la bande-annonce est magique. 14 mai : De la chair fraîche à la Semaine de la critique C’est l’un des films les plus attendus des amoureux du cinéma de genre Made in France. «Grave» de Julia Ducournau possède l’un des pitches les plus dingues de l’année : une jeune fille vegan qui devient attirée par le sang après avoir été contrainte de manger de la viande ! 15 mai : Marion Cotillard en quête d’un prix d’interprétation Après «De rouille et d’os», «The Immigrant», «Deux jours, une nuit» et «Macbeth», la Française Marion Cotillard revient en compétition sur la Croisette avec «Mal de pierre» de Nicole Garcia. 15 mai : Deux «Nice Guys» sur la Croisette Ryan Gosling et Russell Crowe dans une comédie policière de l’excellent Shane Black («Iron Man 3» : voilà qui promet quelques fous rires lors de la projection de «The Nice Guys», hors compétition. 15 mai : La plus touchante des Courgettes Sélectionné à la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, «Ma vie de Courgette» de Claude Barras fera beaucoup pleurer sur la Croisette. Ce film d’animation réalisé en stop motion est une pépite de poésie. 16 mai : L’invitation au voyage de Bertrand Tavernier Une des plus belles programmation du Festival de Cannes. La section Cannes Classics, réservée aux films de patrimoine et documentaires sur le monde du cinéma, regorge de chefs d’œuvre. Parmi les films présentés, ce «Voyage à travers le cinéma français» de Bertrand Tavernier, le plus cinéphile des cinéastes. 17 mai : Kristen Stewart, princesse du Festival de Cannes Elle ouvrira en beauté le Festival dans «Café Society» de Woody Allen mais surtout sera la star de «Personal Shopper» d’Olivier Assayas, dont elle est la nouvelle muse après «Sils Maria». Le 69e Festival de Cannes devrait consacrer le talent de l’article américaine de 26 ans. 17 mai : Pedro Almodovar de retour en compétition Habitué du Festival de Cannes, l’Espagnol Pedro Almodovar n’a pourtant jamais obtenu la récompense suprême, la Palme d’or, ou même la «deuxième place», le Grand Prix du jury. «Julieta» lui permettra-t-il de remporter enfin la palme d’or? 18 mai : Catherine Deneuve devant la caméra de Paul Vecchiali Vétéran du cinéma français d’auteur, Paul Vecchiali n’avait jamais connu les honneurs de la sélection officielle du Festival de Cannes. Une «injustice» qui sera réparée avec la projection de «Le Cancre», lors d’une séance spéciale. On retrouvera dans la distribution des grands noms : Catherine Deneuve et Mathieu Amalric. 19 mai : Xavier Dolan, le retour du surdoué Le jeune cinéaste québécois revient en compétition deux ans après «Mommy» et ne veut plus se contenter du prix du jury. Xavier Dolan visera la Palme d’or avec «Juste la fin du monde» et son casting cinq étoiles – Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye, Gaspard Ulliel et Léa Seydoux. 20 mai : Nicolas Winding Refn pour électriser la Croisette «Drive» l’avait révélé aux yeux du public cannois «The Neon Demon», vendu comme un film d’horreur cannibale dans le milieu de la mode ? 20 mai : Sean Penn et Charlize Theron se sont séparé. Mais ils avaient auparavant tourné un film ensemble, «The Last Face », présenté en compétition lors de ce 69e Festival de Cannes… 21 mai : Le cinéaste néerlandais Paul Verhoeven est de retour aux affaires. «Elle» offre à la reine Isabelle Huppert un rôle à sa démesure. 21 mai : «Mad Max», Mel Gibson croisera sans doute son ami George Miller, président du jury de ce 69e Festival de Cannes sur la Croisette. Il est en tout cas la star de «Blood Father», présenté en séance de minuit. 22 mai : le soir du palmarès Qui succèdera à «Dheepan» de Jacques Audiard ? Quels comédiens seront consacrés par le jury ? « Café Society » Woody Allen with Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg will open the Festival

The new film by director Woody Allen will open the 69th Cannes International Film Festival. Café Society will be screened on Wednesday 11 May in the Grand Théâtre Lumière at the Palais des Festivals, in Official Selection but Off Competition. And it will be released that day in the theaters, distributed by the company Mars Films, directed by Stéphane Célérier. CANNES 2015 Films in competition

Pierre Lescure the new president of the Cannes Film Festival, raised the veil on the 17 films in competition. American Gus Van Sant, Chinese Jia Zhangke, French Jacques Audiard and Maiwenn and Italian Nanni Moretti are among the directors selected for the official competition. France, with four films and Italy with three films are particularly well represented, unlike Latin America absent from the competition. Jacques Audiard with « Dheepan », Stéphane Brizé with « Market law »Valérie Donzelli with « Marguerite and Julien » and Maiwenn with « My King » will be the four French in competition. North America three films: « Carol » by Todd Haynes and « The Sea of trees » of Gus Van Sant for the United States, and « Sicario » Canadian Denis Villeneuve.
