There was a lack of «latest settings» to launch the Cannes Film Festival on May 14. It is now official, we know the names of those who come to join the jury and the latest films selected.
Jury
Two women complete the jury, chaired this year by Sean Penn: Marjane Satrapico-director of «Persepolis» and awarded last year in Cannes with the jury prize, and Jeanne Balibar (photo) actress in «How did I fight... my sex life» d-Arnaud Desplechin or «Clean» Olivier Assayas, very coveted filmmakers in Cannes. Films in official selection OPENING : 22 films in competition
Blindness, Brazilian Republic Fernando Meirelles, will open the festival. Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Danny Glover and Gael García Bernal, great regular, will climb the steps on May 14.
Three more films in the selection, bringing the number of films selected for the official competition to 22.
So there's «Between the walls» by Laurent Cantet, adaptation to the screen of François Bégaudeau's book, «Two lovers» James Gray, a filmmaker already competing in 2000 with «The Yards» then in 2007 with «The Night belongs to us».
