The Dardenne brothers awarded the Prix du Cinéma Positive in Cannes for « Young mothers »
This Friday, May 23 at 1 p.m., on the CNC beach in Cannes, directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne received the Prix du Cinéma Positive 2025 for their latest film Jeunes Mères, a poignant and committed work hailed for its humanism and social reach. The prize (the second for the Dardenne brothers after the one received in 2022 for Tori and Lokita), which recognizes the most positive feature film among all those in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival, was presented to them by the sponsors of this edition, Aïssa Maïga, actress and director engaged, and Jimmy Jean-Louis, international actor, both fervent defenders of a cinema carrying meaning and impact. The ceremony was held in an inspiring atmosphere, in the presence of Sam Bobino, director of Positive Cinema Week, Rosalie Mann, president of the association No More Plastic, Dolores Chaplin, actress and director, as well as Alexandra Cousteau, filmmaker and explorer and Estelle Lefebure, actress and president of the association Spero Mar.
