The Cannes Film Festival has chosen for the poster of its 66th edition a couple who perfectly embodies the spirit of cinema: Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, taken in pictures on the filming of the well-named A New Kind of Love by Melville Shavelson (1963). It is an opportunity for the Festival to pay tribute to the memory of Paul Newman, who disappeared in 2008, and to make a full admiration to Joanne Woodward, his wife and his election performer. Opening 66th Cannes Festival : Gatsby the Magnificent with Léonardo Di Caprio
The opening of the 66th Cannes Festival will be with Gatsby the magnificent, the new « madness » Baz Luhrmann. Spielberg President of the Cannes Film Festival 2013
American director Steven Spielberg will be president of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival jury. With the announcement of this prestigious collaboration, the Cannois rendezvous confirms his love for the great figures of American cinema.
