L^A.M.E (private lounge, rue d'Antibes) hosts the RODIN film team

Last night at M.A.E., the team of the film RODIN by Jacques Doillon with Vincent Lindon, Izïa Higelin, and Séverine Canele presented in competition at the 70th Cannes Festival.

Action by Rodin began in 1880: the sculptor was 40 years old and he had just received his first order from the French state. Soon he will sculpt The Hell Gate, his most famous work, inspired by The Divine Comedy Dante. While his heated passion with Camille Claudel ended to consume himself, he gave himself to all creative audacity. Vincent Lindon's performance at least seems to please Variety : "His physical presence, all in strength, is impressive. It stands like a large piece of clay, thick, dense, rooted in the ground." But this is not enough to save the film, on the contrary. For the American magazine, specialized in the entertainment industry, the talents of the actor only accentuate the impression of a "missed opportunity" : to grasp the artist's soul, "go visit the retrospective currently held in Paris [at the Grand Palace, for the 100th anniversary of Rodin's death] would otherwise be more instructive".
