Forest Whitaker Palme d'honneur du 75e Festival de Cannes

After Jodie Foster in 2021, it's the actor Forest Whitaker who will be the guest of honour at the opening ceremony of the 75th Cannes Festival, broadcast live by France Télévisions and Brut. Just like Jeanne Moreau, Bernardo Bertolucci, Manoel de Oliveira, Jean-Pierre Léaud, Agnès Varda or Alain Delon, he will receive a Palm gold honour, which salutes a brilliant artistic career and a rare personality as well as a discreet but affirmed commitment to the great humanitarian actions of our time.

« 34 years ago, coming to Cannes for the first time changed my life and confirmed that dedicating myself to seeking different relations with humanity through cinema was the right decision. It is always a privilege to come back for this beautiful festival, to expose my work there but also to be inspired by the greatest artists in the world. I am incredibly honoured to be celebrated as part of the 75th anniversary of the Festival. »
