Exclusive: We found the trophy of the 1st Cannes Festival 1939 ...

For the first time at the Cannes Film Festival, you will be able to discover and approach the very first award before the creation of the « Palm gold » which was created for the 1st Film Festival of 1939 which was cancelled at the last moment because of the Second World War.

The official award to be awarded at the very first Cannes festival in 1939 had been forged. The declaration of the Second World War had prevented the opening of the festival and since then this very first octagonal trophy had left Cannes.
