ZULU with Orlando Bloom closes 66th CANNES FESTIVAL
It is director Jérôme Salle ( Anthony Zimmer , Largo Winch) who has the honour of closing this 66th edition of the Cannes Film Festival with his film ZULU. Projected out of competition, just after the announcement of an expected list, released with elegance from the mouth of our president Steven Spielberg, the film plunges us into the violent atmosphere of the old demons of apartheid. In Cape Town, two criminal cops – Forest Whitaker and Orlando Bloom – face the appearance of a drug that triggers morbid impulses. A first murder – a white girl – puts them on the track of a little drug dealer. The investigation will plunge the two policemen back into the dark hours of South Africa and the delirious plans of the Afrikaaner extremists. The screening is followed by an evening organised in partnership with Pathé at the Chivas club, in the presence of the entire film team. Liz Taylor aura un hommage à l’AmFar (association caritative contre le sida) Elizabeth Taylor, l’une des dernières grandes légendes d’Hollywood, est décédée ce mercredi à l’âge de 79 ans en Californie. L’actrice anglo-américaine était une habituée de la croisette. Le gala de l’association AmFar pour la lutte contre le SIDA, qu’elle avait fondée, est devenu un évènement incontournable duFestival de Cannes. La dernière apparition de l’actrice à Cannes remonte à 2002. Le 64e Festival dédiera sa soirée caritative à l’actrice disparue et un hommage sera rendu au Palais durant le Festival 2011.
