Official Festival de Cannes : Restless , by Gus Van Sant , will open the Un Certain regard on Thursday, May 12.
The film explores the relationship between two teenagers incarnated by Mia Wasikowska and Henry Hooper. Gus Van Sant is a great regular of the festival: selected for the first time with Ready to All, in 1995, he received a Palme d'Oren 2003 for Elephant and a prize at the 60th anniversary of the festival, in 2007, for Paranoid Park. So Gus Van Sant won the Palme d'Or and will not be in the official competition this year.
This year, it is Emir Kusturica who will chair the jury of Un Certain Regard, and will therefore award a prize to one of the films selected on May 21.
