THE WEEK OF THE POSITIF CINEMA: 10TH EDITION!
ARTIFICIAL CINEMA & INTELLIGENCE, ENVIRONMENT, INCLUSION
From Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 May 2024
78 Cannes Festival
Created in 2016 by Jacques Attali, on the occasion of the International Film Festival, and directed by Sam Bobino, Positive Cinema Week this year celebrates its tenth edition and will take place in Cannes from 21 to 24 May 2025. Organized under the auspices of the Cannes Film Festival, in partnership with the Positiv Association, the Centre National du Cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC), the City of Cannes, No More Plastic (& the Humann Prize), Dauphin and the Fnac, this event devotes a cinema that awakens consciousness, alerts, questions the film industry and puts art at the service of a more just and inclusive society.
The themes that are addressed this year by the prism and their relationship to the cinema and its industry are environmental protection (and especially the ocean), artificial intelligence, professional inclusion, education and the relationship to women.
A MARRAINE AND A CHOICE PARRAIN
For this 10th anniversary edition, the organizers have exceptionally chosen two ambassadors, a godmother, actress and director committed to diversity Aïssa Maïga (The Russian Dolls, Caché, The Ecumenum of Days, Ready for all, He already has your eyes, Walking on the water, When you are big, Black is not my job – book –...) and a godfather, the hollywoo-den actor Jimmy Jean-Louis (Heroes, The tears of the sun, Hollywood Homicide, His mother or me, The Match of their life, Heros: The child of Haiti, from the slums of Port-au-Prince to the stars of Hollywood – book –...).
The Humann Prize returns for a second edition as part of Positive Cinema Week. A distinction created by Rosalie Mann, President Founder of No More Plastic Foundation.
The Humann Prize honours committed personalities who have brilliantly used their influence, fame and voice to promote an environmental or social cause, with the ambition to provoke a real change in our society.
This year the Humann Impact Prize will be awarded to the singer-songwriter-inter-preter, producer and Icelandic actress Björk, who has not returned to Cannes for 25 years, since her performance prize for Dancer in the Dark.
This prize will be awarded to Björk for the impact of all his work, which makes the environmental cause resonate and famous, with rare strength, the sacred link between art, nature and living. Through its music, performances and visual universe, Björk raises awareness of the fragility of our planet and invites everyone to reinvent their relationship to Earth.
The Humann Prize will also feature an exceptional screening of Björk's latest film-concert event: Cornucopia, in the presence of Björk and the director Ísold Uggadóttir. This event will take place on May 22 at 8 p.m. at the Cinéum de Cannes (La Bocca) cinema. Admission will be free and free for all (within the limits of available places).
Three other Humann Prizes will also be awarded to Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin (known as Charlie Chaplin, posthumously) through his granddaughter Dolores Chaplin who will also be present (the Humann Lifetime Prize), as well as to the explorer and little girl of Commander Cousteau Alexandre Cousteau (the Humann Action Prize) and to actress Anouk Grinberg (the Humann Prize Women With).
