La Plage Magnum welcomes the casting of the film Clarissa after its screening at the Fortnight of Filmmakers
Located at 50 boulevard de la Croisette for its 13th consecutive edition in Cannes, the beach of the famous ice cream brand has welcomed projections, private events, cinema talents, content creators and media in an atmosphere mixing glamorous, music and conviviality. During the Cannes 2026 Festival, the legendary Plage Magnum once again confirmed its status as a must-see place for the Croisette evenings. Among the highlights of this edition 2026, the evening dedicated to the film Clarissa brought together a part of the team of the feature film directed by the brothers Arie Esiri and Chuko Esiri, presented this year at the Filmmakers' Fortnight 2026. Free modern adaptation of Mrs. Virginia Woolf's Dalloway translated into the contemporary Lagos, Clarissa blends intimate drama, political gaze and ambitious visual aesthetics. The film is starred by an international casting with Sophie Okonedo in the title role of Clarissa, Ayo Edebiri (Young Sally), David Oyelowo (Peter), India Amarteifio (Young Clarissa) and Toheeb Jimoh (Young Peter) After the screening of the film, guests and film professionals met at the Magnum Beach for an elegant evening facing the sea, in the unique atmosphere of the Cannoese nights. Welcomed by the critic as one of the bright works of this selection, Clarissa offered a rare evening of intensity on the beach, where the flashes of light on the sea echoed the visual ambition of the film https://youtube.com/shorts/CiV7qPU9JK4 Share article
