Jean-Paul Belmondo will celebrate his 78th anniversary on April 7.
The French star will receive the following month, as part of the great Cannoese Mass, a tribute to the festival
According to Le Parisien, the actor would receive this tribute on 16 May in the heart of the festivities. According to our colleague, this is not the first time that the festival invites Belmondo, but he had for the moment always hesitated to go there « no doubt because of his physical disability, which causes him difficulties of travel » since his stroke 10 years ago.
This tribute of the festival will be the occasion for Belmondo to find a Croisette that was not tender with him. Jean-Paul Belmondo presented only two films in Cannes – Moderato Cantabile by Peter Brooks in 1960 and Stavisky by Alain Resnais in 1974 – two films that were quite whistled during their official screening.
In 2001, however, the actor returned to climb the steps alongside Gérard Oury, honored by the festival. Ten later, almost day to day, it is Jean-Paul Belmondo's responsibility to receive the laurels of the international film festival.
