French actress will chair the jury of the Cannes International Festival
Isabelle Huppert, whose filmography includes more than 80 works, has been awarded twice with a prize for female performance.
While her last film, Villa Amalia, by Benoît Jacquot, was released in the theatres, she was about to chair the jury of the 62nd Cannes Festival.
She herself presented 17 films in
Official selection and two performance awards: in 1978 for Claude Chabrol's Violette Nozière, and in 2001 for Michael Haneke's La Pianiste. In Villa Amalia, according to Pascal Quignard's novel, she is Ann, a woman who simmers in order not to sink.
